Michael Griffie is the founder of Griffie Promotions. Griffie has a servant’s heart who wants to see others succeed first. It is out of his passion for the wrestling business that Griffie Promotions was started.
A Gastonia, NC native, Griffie has traveled the United States. He spent time serving in the US Army, getting stationed in Hawaii for three years. After his time on active duty, he went back to school attending Gaston College for two years, then achieved a dream of being accepted and attending NC State Univeristy. But after only one semester in 2005, he left NCSU to work as a computer help desk techinician and has worked in the information technology field ever since.
In 2008 he was introduced to an independent wrestler named Buz who brought him into his promotion Southern Heritage Championship Wrestling (SHCW). That year SHCW ran three shows but did not reach the success that was needed to continue having shows on a monthly basis. From those shows, Griffie became the manager of a wrestling legend The Barbarian. The Barbarian took “Mikey”, as he likes to call him, on the road and it didnt take long for Mikey to become his right hand man.
In December 2009 Mikey met former ECW Superstar Chris Hamrick. Hamrick, a wrestling veteran of 20 plus years, started training Mikey to wrestle, and whenever Mikey wasn’t/isn’t on the road with The Barbarian, he was/is on the road with Chris Hamrick… paying his dues and carrying their bags.
